Snow has fallen on many areas in the north of France this week, causing disruption for some, excitement for others.

The Université de Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) filmed its campus covered in a thin layer of snow.

In Normandy, the snow showers began on Saturday (December 10), leaving the stade Joseph Déterville in Caen (Calvados) covered in white.

In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Lyon’s mayor Grégory Doucet tweeted: “The Bartholdi horses [on the fountain sculpted by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi] were surprised by the snow this morning!”
In Paris, there was a light dusting of snow, which La France Insoumise MP and blogger Antoine Léaument captured in a photograph posted on Twitter.
Areas of Hauts-de-France like Lille, and Brittany like Rennes, have also seen a thin blanket of snow this week.
