Naked restaurant but no naked chef
No dress code for new Paris diner near Bois de Vincennes
No need to dress up for the latest restaurant in Paris; no need to dress at all, in fact as O’Naturel is a naturist restaurant.
Opened in the 12th arrondissement, it is just a short walk from the Bois de Vincennes where a naturist space opened last August for summer. Naturists will, however, need to get dressed for the short stroll to the restaurant as the punishment for walking naked in the streets of France is a year in jail and €15,000 fine.
Twins Mike and Stéphane Saada told FranceTVinfo they were inspired by London naturist restaurant Bunyadi at Elephant and Castle that opened last year – although they are not naturists themselves.
The menu is styled ‘bistronomique’ with many vegan dishes such as pearl barley risotto, vegetable and mushroom soup and aubergine caviar.
Diners will obviously arrive dressed and the restaurant has a changing room to get undressed.
The restaurant seats 40 – all seats are covered with single-use covers – but waiting staff are dressed for ‘hygiene reasons’ with the chefs dressed by law… so little danger of finding a ‘hair’ in the soup. Napkins are also suitably lengthy to avoid prying eyes…
The menu is priced at about €39-€49 and booking at O’Naturel is mandatory.
