The French restaurants in TripAdvisor’s Top 10 highest-rated for 2022
Two sites have made it into the Fine Dining rankings, as part of the Travellers’ Choice Awards 2022, which span 51 countries over six continents

Two restaurants in France have made it into the 2022 top 10 ranking for the best Fine Dining food, in the latest Travellers’ Choice Awards results published by global review website TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor released its rankings for the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best, for the categories Fine Dining, Date Night, Hidden Gems, Picture-Perfect Restaurants, Everyday Eats, and Quick Bites.
The site said: “The Travellers’ Choice Awards reward the favourite destinations of travellers, on the basis of reviews and collected opinions, over a period of 12 months.”
The ‘Best of the Best’ category is its highest accolade, with “winners making up the 1% of best-rated listings on TripAdvisor”.
Two other restaurants outside of mainland France also featured in the 2022 rankings, but this time in the Date Night category, and outside the top 10 in each case.
19th place: Stretta, in Porto (Corse-du-Sud)
22nd place: Lagoon Restaurant, Bora Bora (French Polynesia)
However, no French restaurants made it into the top 10 of any other categories.
International rankings
This year, the winning restaurants are found across 51 countries over six continents.
The winning restaurant in the Fine Dining category was, for the second year running, The Old Stamp House Restaurant in Ambleside, UK. This site, run by two brothers, has one Michelin star and is unanimously rated at five out of five stars on the TripAdvisor website.
Reviewers say it offers a “brilliant culinary experience”, “a memorable evening”, and “incredible food”.
The other category winners were:
Everyday Eats: Timber Kitchen and Bar, Bangor, Maine, US
Quick Bites: Bleecker Street Pizza, NYC, New York, US
Picture-Perfect Restaurants: Sunset Monalisa, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Date Night: Altto Ristorante & Lounge Bar, Armação dos Búzios, Brazil
Hidden Gems: Green Point, Cuzco, Peru
TripAdvisor also releases the Travellers’ Choice Awards in the categories of Hotels, Beaches, Destinations, and Things to Do.
