An 83-year-old British woman who was declared missing from her south-west France home on January 1 has been found “alive and well.”
“Frances Smith was found alive and well on Tuesday evening [January 2],” the Gers gendarmerie told The Connexion.
She was reported missing from her home in Mauléon-d’Armagnac at 14:00 on January 1.

The Gers gendarmerie thanked the many people who had shared the information about Ms Smith’s disappearance out of concern for her wellbeing.
Ms Smith, who reportedly suffers from memory problems, has gone missing on previous occasions only to be found several kilometres from her home days later.
