Letters: postal vote delays could deny France residents UK vote

To the Editor,

I thought readers might be interested in the letter me and my wife received regarding UK postal voting.

While a postal vote has been agreed, the letter makes clear that if it does not arrive in time to be returned then we will be denied our new voting rights.

This puts our chance of voting in the hands of whoever is sending out the postal vote.

The fact that they state that if we do not receive the postal vote by the day of the election we should contact their office for a replacement is surely a joke because it will then be too late.

Is this just a legal way of still denying expats the right to vote?
