France’s national rail operator SNCF has launched a flash sale of 325,000 train tickets, for both high-speed TGVs and classic routes.

The sale started yesterday and is running until September 27, with tickets on a first-come first-served basis.

There are 200,000 TGV tickets on sale (for high-speed InOui routes) and 125,000 discounted Intercités tickets available, for journeys taking place between November 13 and December 13.

Some of the tickets provide a discount of 50% compared to standard prices on the same route.

Of the tickets on sale, 140,000 TGV tickets will cost €29 - €49 for a second-class ticket, with 60,000 tickets offering an upgrade to first-class for €1 extra.

The majority of Intercités tickets (100,000) are available for €19, with 25,000 first-class tickets on sale for €20.

The sale is part of the Traincroyables’ summer promotion, and is being put on by the operator to help keep trains full between the Toussaint half-term school holiday in October/November and the Christmas period.

You can purchase the tickets online via the SNCFConnect website. Not all routes are covered by the sale and some trains, such as the Intercités night routes, are not included.
