British tourist found after 20-hour disappearance in France

A British tourist was found alive on Wednesday after going missing for 20 hours in Aveyron, southern France.

The 60-year-old man was reported missing on Tuesday, October 1 by his family after failing to return from a walk in the woods surrounding the village of Conques. 

A search operation involving around 10 police and firefighters was suspended at 22:30 on Tuesday night because of darkness, according to Centre Presse Aveyron. It resumed on Wednesday morning. 

The man was found in a rocky area close to the village during the late morning on Wednesday October 2.
