Car hits 12 boars on motorway in Normandy: three people injured

Road closed for nearly an hour after incident

The driver and passengers were taken to hospital after hitting the boars but their injuries were said to be not severe

A car hit a group of 12 boars on a motorway in Normandy on Saturday evening (October 12). Three people were injured.

The accident happened on the A84, near the Mont Saint-Michel at around 22:00. 

The three people in the car – a man, aged 50, and women, 47 and 17 – were taken to nearby Avranches hospital but their injuries were not said to be severe.

Around 15 firefighters attended the scene.

The motorway was closed for around 40 minutes as the area was cleaned before being reopened before midnight. 

The boars that were not killed in the accident were evacuated away from the motorway.
