Charge query
I hired a car through Vehicle-Rent.com online from Bordeaux-Mérignac.
However, when my credit card statement came through, £8.47 had been charged as an environmental surcharge.
When I queried it, they said if I had hovered the mouse over the ‘i’ information button, I would have seen the charge.
So, I hope others will be made aware of this.

Editor’s note: On the Vehicle-Rent website, an overall price for the car hire is shown under the package chosen.
Underneath this figure, the daily hire rate is shown with an ‘i’ button. This shows the breakdown of what is included in this rate, including the environmental charge.
It is included in the total price when you pay for the car but on your bank statement the environmental charge may be shown separately to the package price but it should not be extra to the overall charge.
