Covid-19: 7 new countries added to France’s quarantine-on-arrival list
Travellers coming from Turkey, Bangladesh, Pakistan and more will have to self-isolate for 10 days upon arriving in France
France has introduced a mandatory 10-day quarantine-on-arrival for travellers coming from seven more countries: Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The decision has been taken based on the high number of cases of Covid-19 in these countries.
These quarantine rules already apply to travellers coming from Brazil, India, Chile, South Africa and Argentina.

The measures for the new countries will come into effect from midnight tonight (May 8).
Travellers from all of these countries will also have to present proof of a negative PCR test taken within 36 hours of arrival in France.
The government has stated that there will be “tolerance” for this weekend.
All travellers from these countries must declare to the airlines where they plan to spend the 10 days.
Anyone caught breaking the quarantine rules can be fined €1,000 or up to €1,500 in the case of a repeat offence.
Government spokesman Gabriel Attal stated earlier this week that 1,500 police checks had already been carried out and 141 people fined, Le Monde reported.
How is France enforcing quarantine for international travellers?
The travellers are allowed a window of two hours, between 10:00 and 12:00 every day, to go outside.
