Covid-19: Separate bin bag for virus-link items
New directives have been issued for throwing away used tissues, masks and disposable gloves from households in France.
You are asked to put them in a separate, strong plastic bag with a secure system such as ties for closing it and once you have closed it you are asked to wait for 24 hours before you then put it into your normal black bin.
The measure has been introduced as a precaution to protect dustbin men from Covid-19 infection.
There have been complaints from dustbin men who are having to continue their rounds as usual, that they have not got enough protection and are without masks or sufficient gel.
