Visitors to Saint Emilion can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the Unesco World Heritage site this weekend.
The historic and picturesque town in the Gironde department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine holds a hot-air balloon festival every October.
Flights over the town and vineyards from the Parc Guadet in the town are available to anyone who books in advance using the form available here. More details of events on each day are available here.
Prices range from €199 for residents of the town and immediate surroundings to €230 for those from further afield. Children from the age of 10 and over 1m30 tall can also enjoy the unique experience for €150. Payments can be made by cheque or electronic bank transfer. Details are on the application form.
Those taking part must be on site at 7am for morning flights and 4pm for late-afternoon flights.
