Hundreds of thousands of cut-price tickets are available across the network

The flash sale is for OuiGo trains on the French network

Travellers have until midnight tonight (September 5) to take advantage of a flash sale of 200,000 high-speed train tickets in France.

The discounted tickets – for low-cost, high-speed OuiGo trains on the French network – are available as part of a 48-hour flash sale.

Tickets on certain routes are available for a maximum price of €19, although many are available for less, including €10 for tickets between Paris and Lyon / Marseille.

Other discounted tickets include for children (beginning from €5) and for seats on ‘classic’ lower speed routes also operated by OuiGo.

The sale forms part of the wider September discounts offered by state rail operator the SNCF as part of its ‘Traincroyables’ promotion.

Tickets are available on all OuiGo routes, which are low-cost trains running on classic high-speed lines.

The stripped-back trains do not come with WiFi or seat selection options – both of which can be purchased separately – and do not have a bar carriage.

Remaining tickets cover journeys between September 9 and December 14.

Note that, in many cases, return journeys are not included in the offer, meaning return trips can be significantly more expensive.

You can book your tickets online either via the OuiGo website or the SNCFConnect website
