French state ‘secu’ deficit falls
France has made progress in balancing the books of its social security system.

The deficit reduced to €1.2billion in 2018, the lowest since 2001 but still above the €1billion predicted by the government. In 2017 it was €5.1billion. Only the healthcare arm is now in deficit with the other sectors of retirement, work accidents and family allowance keeping to budget.
