The ice creams were sold at supermarkets including Auchan, Carrefour, Intermarché and Super U. These are the batches affected
Pots of Häagen-Dazs ice cream are being recalled across France due to a potentially-toxic ingredient, from supermarkets including Auchan, Carrefour, Casino, Intermarché and Super U
The ice cream was also sold at the supermarkets Picard, Cora, and Franprix.
The products have been found at risk of containing 2-Chloroethanol, which is potentially toxic if ingested, prompting a country-wide recall notice.
The recalled products are:

Minicup ice creams and pots in the flavours Belgian Chocolate, Belgian Chocolate & Vanilla Crunch, Cookie & Cream, Macadamia Nut Brittle, Praline & Cream, Vanilla Brownie & Raspberry Crunch, Vanilla Caramel Brownie and Vanilla Pecan. Use-by date: between March 16, 2023 and April 29, 2023.

Ice cream bâtonnets and mini bâtonnets (lolly-shaped), in flavours Vanilla Caramel Almond, Macadamia Nut Brittle, Mix Macadamia Nut Brittle/Salted Caramel, Mix Vanilla Caramel Almond/Chocolate and Choc Almond. Use-by-date: Between March 16, 2023 and April 29, 2023.

Multi-pack ice creams, in flavours Caramel Attraction Chocolate Collection, Duo Vanilla Collection, Favorite Selection Macadamia Nut Brittle, Original Collection, Vanilla Collection. Use-by date: Between March 8, 2023 and April 29, 2023.
The problem ingredient, 2-Chloroethanol, was found in the vanilla flavouring of the affected products.
Dispose or return for refund
Retailers recommend that consumers who have bought any of these batches should not consume them and should dispose of them safely.

It comes after batches of Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream were recalled earlier in July due to a risk of trace levels of ethylene oxide.
