The fifth annual TF1 competition seeks to ‘celebrate markets and encourage the values that they represent’. Voting is open until June 22
The fifth annual edition of ‘Your most beautiful market’ has kicked off in France, with 24 markets from across the country on the shortlist until June 22.
The most popular and early results of the ongoing vote were revealed on May 27 by TF1 13H host Marie-Sophie Lacarrau.
The 24 markets in the running for the 2022 edition were announced on Friday April 15, two weeks before the start of the contest.
Voting is open until June 22 online at the website here. You can vote several times, and ask colleagues, friends and family to do the same.
The market in Étaples-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais) won in 2021. The competition was created in 2018 by Jean-Pierre Pernaut, who wanted to celebrate markets and encourage the values that they represent: local proximity and regional heritage.
It is now organised by TF1's 13H programme, in cooperation with regional newspapers.
The sites in the running for this year’s title consist mainly of food markets, with cheese stalls, vegetables, delicatessen and takeaway lunch options, but also of flowers and clothes.
