There is no need to panic if you cannot use the tax site today

If you try to log on to your French tax space on Thursday (July 6) at the impots.gouv.fr website, you may notice that some features are inaccessible.

A series of maintenance work and updates to the website will leave parts of both the personal and professional spaces unavailable to use.

“Due to maintenance works, online services will be partially or completely unavailable on July 6,” announced French tax authorities.

All in all, five sections of the website will be either completely or partially unavailable at certain times on Thursday as the updates are applied.

This includes the gestion des biens immobiliers section, which is where you go to submit the mandatory property declaration.

What parts of the website will be unavailable?

Below is a list of the sections of the website that will be unavailable:

  • The entire tax space for professionals (espace professionnel) will be unavailable between 07:00 – 10:00 and 16:30 – 18:00

On the personal space (espace particulier), there are a number of areas that will be down, including:

  • The document registration (d'enregistrement des actes), sending a message to the tax authorities (de messagerie sécurisée) and making an appointment with your local tax office (prise de rendez-vous) requests will be unavailable between 07:00 – 10:00 and 16:30 – 18:00

  • The section regarding your owned properties (gestion des biens immobiliers) will be unavailable for two hours, between 08:00 – 10:00

  • The contact details for local services (coordonnées de services territoriaux) usually found in the Contacts section will be missing between 07:00 – 10:00 and 16:30 – 18:00

  • The ability to view documents, and to access the ‘tax’ (impôts) section within the payments (paiments) menu will be “intermittent at best, if not interrupted” between the evening of July 5 to the evening of July 6 – the tax authorities give no defined time to when the service will be completely available again.

If you need to use the tax website today, you should wait until later tonight (or if possible, tomorrow), to make sure you can access everything you need to without any issues.
