It’s my name

Re a previous letter, I too have experienced the ridiculous situation of being issued with a permis de conduire in my maiden name despite having had my married name for 45 years.

When I pointed out that it only showed my maiden name, even though signed in my married name, I was told to write to the President.

The previous paper licences carried both maiden and married names so why can’t these new ones?

This hardly lives up to “equality” if we cannot have the names we use/choose on our documentation.

I shall be interested to hear how your reader gets on with approaching an “ombudsman”.
