Key dates for tax payments this November in France
Second-home owners will receive their taxe d’habitation statements this month and many residents will see an income tax payment taken from their bank account

November sees five key tax dates fall for residents and second-home owners in France. They are:
November 4: Taxe d’habitation statements
Taxe d’habitation property tax bills for second-home owners will appear in online spaces on impots.gouv.fr from November 4 for taxpayers who do not pay monthly, and from November 18 for those who pay monthly.
People who have opted for paper statements will receive them between November 6 and 18 for monthly payment and between November 21 and 28 for those who do not pay monthly.

November 15: Local tax direct debit payments
The 11th direct debit payment for the 2023 taxe foncière, taxe d’habitation and the cotisation foncière des entreprises bills happens today.
Self-employed people who are taxed at source also make their 11th advance taxation at source payment today.
November 15 to 20: Late declarations for the impôt sur la fortune immobilière
Late declaration for the property wealth tax impôt sur la fortune immobilière (IFI) are due on November 15 for paper declarations and November 20 for online declarations.
The IFI real estate wealth tax is assessed along with income tax for residents in France, and is mandatory if the net worth of your property/properties is above €1.3 million. There is a 30% reduction for the value of the household’s main home.
Note that the first deadline for this tax is on September 15. The late returns deadlines of November 15 to 20 only concern people whose situations are known by the tax authorities to be complex.

November 25: Third income tax direct debit
If you have an outstanding income tax bill (for 2023 income) of more than €300, this is settled in four instalments between September 26 and December 27, 2024. The third instalment happens today.

November 30: Taxe d’habitation direct debit registrations
Second-home owners have until November 30 to register to pay their taxe d'habitation bill by direct debit. You can do this in your online space on impots.gouv.fr.
You do not need to do this again if you have done it in a previous year.
The direct debits will start from December 27.
