LIST: Cars and vans recalled in France over fire and injury risk
Models from six major brands are affected

A number of cars and small vans are being recalled in France and other European countries due to the potential risk of fire and injury to drivers.
Vehicles from brands Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, and Opel are affected, with reasons ranging from faulty ground connections (les connexions au sol) increasing the risk of fire and malfunctioning to issues with car batteries.
Vehicles produced by Lexus and Toyota are also being recalled due to issues with camera installations.
Cameras on the front and rear of vehicles (used to check the surroundings when parking, etc) have been found to be incorrectly welded onto vehicles, allowing water to enter and potentially cause the cameras to short circuit.
This increases the risk of injury and accident, as the cameras will display either fault images or none at all and may also be a fire hazard.
Alerts were initially raised by the EU Safety Gate website, which oversees recalls of non-food products across the bloc.
France’s national recall website RappelConso has now also issued its own notices for drivers in France.
There are no specific dates given for when the vehicles entered the market.

Lexus models recalled are: AXZA10/AXZH10/GSZ10, GVF50/GVF55, FJA310/VJA310, AAZA25/AAZH20/AAZH25/AAZH26/TAZA25, AALH15/AALH16/TALA15/TALH17, XEBM15, KMA10/MZAA10/MZAH10/MZAH15
Toyota’s recalled models are: XEAM10/YEAM15, MXGH12/MXGH15/ZVG12/ZVG13, JPD20, MXWH61 (these are all models from 2023).

In all cases, vehicle owners are being instructed to contact the dealership where they bought the car to organise the next steps.
