New French police website launched
France has created a single website through which all dealings with French police or gendarmes can go

A new website is aiming to simplify dealings with police.
Online processes related to both the police and gendarmerie, from filing a complaint to getting advice, now go through masecurite.interieur.gouv.fr.
You can use the online platform to signal offences, including, but not limited to:
-
domestic, sexual or sexist violence
-
illegal ‘rodeos’ (motorbike racing or tricks on public roads)
-
credit card fraud
-
discrimination
-
drug traffic-related offences
-
cyberbullying
This follows the launch of the Ma Sécurité mobile app in March last year, and replaces the website moncommissariat.fr, a consequence of increased collaboration between police and gendarmes.
The website also has practical pages, explaining concepts such as the main courante (a way of asking the police to take note of a situation but without filing a formal complaint), and when to call the 17 police emergency number.
Both the website and the app include a chat function, through which police officers and gendarmes are available 24/7 to answer questions.
By entering your location into the website, you can also receive security updates for your area, and locate the nearest police station.
