Paris is the first city in France to test a special road surface aimed at reducing noise and heat

Rue de Courcelles, rue Lecourbe and rue Frémicourt in the 8th and 15th arrondissements have been fitted with 200-metre sections which can reduce temperature by two degrees and cut noise by half.
The move follows on from France’s Plan Climat of 500 measures to reach carbon-neutrality by 2050.
