Petrol prices in France: What offers are on this weekend?
Supermarkets and some motorway service stations are offering extra discounts on top of the government’s 18-cent reduction. We highlight the offers to watch out for
Several supermarkets and motorway service stations are offering extra fuel discounts this weekend

Drivers will be able to benefit from petrol discounts and offers at supermarkets and service stations including Leclerc, TotalEnergie, and Casino this weekend, on top of the 18-cent government rebate.
The government discount came into force on April 1 this year. It is set to rise to 30 cents in September and October – following a proposal from Les Républicains – before dropping to 10 cents in November and December.
As part of the change, the government also urged private companies to help consumers with the price of fuel.

Fuel prices peaked in mid-June, at €2.13 per litre on average, and since then have seen a slight drop overall. They are now at around €1.90 for SP95-E10, while SP 98 now costs an average of €2 per litre – the lowest cost since mid-May.
Offers this weekend are set to include:
Leclerc supermarkets
From July 28-30, Leclerc will sell fuel at cost price, meaning they will make no margin of profit. This means prices will be cheaper than usual.
However, this could be the last such offer of its kind as the forthcoming climate change law is set to ban advertisements for fossil fuel products from August 22.
Leclerc CEO Michel-Edouard Leclerc has denounced this measure and called for the government for “at least a provisional lift” of this measure while fuel prices remain at record highs.
TotalEnergies
Petrol and diesel will be reduced by 12 cents per litre from July 1 until August 31, at motorway service stations. This applies to around 100 petrols stations across France.
This offer is set to rise to 20 cents from September 1 to October 31, at all service stations under the TotalEnergies brand. From November 1 to December 31, the amount will be 10 cents.

Casino
Casino supermarkets are set to bring in their ‘85 cents per litre’ price from Friday, July 29 to Saturday, July 30.
Drivers will be reimbursed the difference between the true price of a litre of fuel and 85 cents via a voucher that can be used in-store before midday on Sunday (July 31).
To use the voucher, customers must do a €100 shop in a Casino, or a €120 shop in a Géant Casino.
