Police in the west of France have made an appeal for the owners of hundreds of items recovered from two prolific burglars to come forward and reclaim the goods.

Objects include jewelry, phones and laptops, scooters, power tools, and perfumes.

Gendarmes in the Charente and Dordogne departments recently arrested two men who had committed hundreds of burglaries in the area, including a prolific spell at the end of 2023.

Communes in north Dordogne were targeted in particular, including: Saint-Martial-de-Valette, Saint-Saud-Lacoussière and Javerlhac-et-la-Chapelle-Saint-Robert.

Hundreds of items were confiscated during raids on the men’s homes and police now want to return the items to their owners.

A dedicated website showing all the items can be found here

Owners of the goods can contact the police via the given email address for each item to discuss collecting them, provided they can prove it is theirs.

The burglars were sentenced to three years in prison for their actions.
