The French consumer protection agency has issued a recall notice for two models of Porsche due to dangerous faults in the luxury cars.
Visitors to the website of the consumer protection agency rappel.conso.gouv.fr will be familiar with the site’s regular offerings of ham with listeria and contaminated cheese.
However, on May 17, the site announced an uncommon recall for two luxury Porsche sports cars for two separate reasons.
The models in question are:
Porsche Taycan - due to the danger of a battery fire - Model ID: Y1A, e13*2007/46*0919*02-*07
The recalls concern 8,000 Porsche 911s built between 2020 and 2024. Only several dozen Taycans are affected by the recall.
While embarrassing for Porsche, this recall is by no means on the scale of that seen earlier in May when a quarter of a million Citroën cars were recalleddue to an airbag fault in the C3 and DS3 models.
However, the owners of the affected €100,000 Porsche sports cars, must return them to the point of sale.
