Tickets for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are on sale from today (October 9) - we look at what is available, where to buy tickets, how much they cost and how many you can purchase.

The 2024 Paralympic Games will be the biggest ever with 2.8 million places available, more than the 2.7 million at London 2012 and the 2.1 million at Rio 2016.

It is, however, fewer than the 3.5 million initially announced due to “technical limitations” at the host sites.

The event will take place over 12 days from August 28 to September 8, 2024, featuring 4,400 Paralympic athletes from around the world.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets for all events are available from October 9 from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games website. Prices for events start at €15, with 50% of tickets available for under €25 and a maximum price of around €100.

The opening ceremony is more expensive however, with tickets costing between €150 and €700. The closing ceremony costs between €45 and €450.

Are there quotas?

Tickets are sold on a ‘first come first served’ basis independent of any tickets you have purchased for the Olympic Games. You can buy up to 30 tickets, including up to 4 for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Three ticket bundles are available:

  • The Discovery Pass Paris Centre, allowing you to choose from 3 to 7 Para sports sessions per day.
  • The Discovery Pass Paris South, allowing you to choose from 6 to 7 Para sports sessions per day.
  • The Family Offer: for every 2 "Standard – Family offer" tickets purchased, up to 2 children tickets at €10. (Offer excludes ceremonies and Discovery Pass. Child tickets available for children under 12 at the event)

84,000 tickets are reserved for people with disabilities, 60,000 of which are for the mobility impaired and 24,000 for wheelchair users.

Where are the venues?

All of the venues for the Paralympics are in Paris and the Ile-de-France area, unlike the Olympic Games, which will take place in venues around France. A map of the Paralympic venues is available here.

Are tickets still available for the Olympic Games?

Many events for the Olympic Games, which run from July 26 to August 11, have already sold out. Tickets were initially sold in ‘packs’ assigned at random, with millions of people signing up for these in the first few weeks.

Some of these buyers will inevitably withdraw from some events which will allow their tickets to be resold individually via the online platform.

You can buy tickets by creating an account on the Olympic Games website and are advised to check regularly to see if and which events are available.
