Reblochon cheese recalled in France due to possible bacteria risk
The raw-milk cheese was sold between December 26 and January 14 in supermarkets. Three other cheeses are also being recalled

Take care if you recently bought the Pochat & fils brand of reblochon cheese. Marketed between Boxing Day and Monday January 14, the ‘Petit Reblochon de Savoie AOP au lait cru’ is being recalled throughout France because of the possible presence of staphylococcus, says the government website Rappel.Conso.
The product has been available in Leclerc, Carrefour, Caro and Auchan. If the date of minimum durability is set at February 21, 2023, the reblochon should not be consumed. The product has the number 2253951 and the barcode 3294580201019.
"Foodborne illnesses caused by staphylococcal enterotoxin result in gastrointestinal disorders (mainly vomiting) appearing in the hours following ingestion and generally disappearing quickly," says the government platform.
Those who have bought this cheese can bring it back to a point of sale to be refunded. The recall procedure will be in effect until January 29.

Three cheeses of the brand Laiterie de la Vallée de Munster were recalled in December due to the presence of listeria monocytogenes. These products were sold in small and large stores throughout France.
The first cheese is a Tomme de la Vallée plaine, with black truffle or bear garlic. The second was a Tommette de la Vallée and the third a Minster AOP au lait cru.
The consumption of products contaminated with listeria can be dangerous. It is therefore recommended not to eat these cheeses. In case of symptoms such as fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and aches and pains, it is advisable to consult a doctor. "Listeriosis is a potentially serious illness with an incubation period of up to eight weeks," states the Rappel.Conso website.
You will have the opportunity to receive a refund or an exchange on any of these three cheeses before March 1, 2023, the end date of the recall procedure. The list of stores that have sold these cheeses is available online.
