Recruitment drive for volunteer pompiers
The government hopes to boost recruitment of volunteer pompiers with measures including better pensions and social protection and a message that it can suit many kinds of people, not just “supermen”.
They want to promote the jeunes sapeurs-pompiers, for 11-18-year-olds, and to encourage people to opt for the pompiers for the future universal national service.
There are also plans to better protect firefighters by more deployment of police and gendarmes to back them up where necessary.
