Low-cost airline Ryanair is still offering flights on its website to and from Limoges Airport (Haute-Vienne) during November and part of December this year despite the fact that the airport will be temporarily closed then while the runway and other parts of the airport are rebuilt.
A spokesperson for Ryanair told The Connexion that as it had not yet received a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) from Limoges Airport, it could not update the schedule.
Limoges Airport responded to this saying that it was not officially allowed to issue the NOTAM until one month before the scheduled closure, but it had informed Ryanair several times of the closure and Ryanair had acknowledged the communication and had promised to update its website in the coming days.
There will be no flights to or from Limoges Airport (Aéroport de Limoges) between October 31 and December 11 this year while works are carried out.
“We are taking advantage of a slightly less busy travel period to schedule this closure and offer customers a new outdoor infrastructure with more responsible electricity consumption,” the airport states.
Ryanair offers flights between Limoges Airport and several UK airports, such as Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester as well as Marrakesh in Morocco.
Customers should not book flights with Ryanair for travel to or from Limoges Airport during the period that the airport is closed. For those who already have, they should contact Ryanair to discuss options.
Easyjet, Ryanair’s low-cost competitor, has already stopped bookings from and to the airport during the closure.
