Up to 26C: How long will late summer burst continue in France?
Flood alerts remain in place in some areas
It is likely the final day of summer conditions in France this year

A burst of summer returns to France today (September 19), with warm temperatures across the country.
Highs of at least 20C are expected everywhere except the Alps, and it will be closer to 26C in the south-west around Bordeaux and Toulouse, as well as the Rhône valley near Lyon.
Sunny skies will also cover the majority of France, with the exception of parts of the east in the afternoon, and central France in the morning.
Fog is likely around the Massif Central, but will clear up as the day goes on.
However, weather warnings continue in the south-west for river flooding, in the Pyrénées, Corsica, and central France for potentially stormy weather, and for coastal waves in Normandy.
End of week to bring storms
The summery conditions will be quickly swept away, as storms and rainfall are forecast to move into France from the western coast tomorrow (September 20), moving towards the centre of the country.
No weather warnings have been put in place for the storms so far, however some remain for river and coastal flooding on Friday.
Storms and rain are likely to continue throughout the weekend, particularly in the north and west, and into the start of next week.
Warnings for both today and Friday remain at a tier-two yellow level, however they may be raised depending on the intensity of the weather conditions.
Previously, Corsica was facing tier-three orange warnings for stormy weather today, but saw these downgraded yesterday evening.
