Residents in Brittany are the most optimistic of all the French regions about the future of where they live - and are proud of their region, a new study reveals.
A study across 12 regions of France (Corsica was omitted) shows that people in Brittany are among the most satisfied with their life, providing high scores across all categories measured.
The study shows they are open to change, feel they face the fewest incidents of anti-social behaviour across the country, and are heavily attached to their region with over eight in ten people giving a positive score for this category.
They were also the joint second-lowest to fear the impact of climate change on the regional economy. However, they believe there are issues with the local education system and feel public services are worsening.
The results are part of a wider study carried out on quality of life in France, the third edition of such a study by pollster Elabe, in collaboration with the Institut Montaigne and national rail operator SNCF.
