Residents in the south-west of France rank the region well in general but are concerned about the effects of climate change, a new study reveals.
The information comes from a study of inhabitants of 12 French regions (excluding Corscia and the overseas regions)) undertaken online by pollster Elabe, in collaboration with the Institut Montaigne and national rail operator SNCF.
People in Nouvelle-Aquitaine region consistently provided above average results for areas such as safety, trust in the education system and attachment to their region.
However, the region was not ranked ‘top’ for any of these areas, nor any aspect of life overall.
This is in contrast to Brittany, which overall scored higher (you can see their results in the article, below).
Equally the region did not rank ‘lowest’ in any category.
Residents were the third most-concerned about the effects of climate change, behind the other southern regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur and Occitanie.
It also saw the majority of those questioned say they struggled with finding a job and the cost of living crisis, although in the case of the latter this was a common position for people regardless of their region.
