Fans of French football can watch many of the matches from the comfort of their own home thanks to modern streaming… but may be even more comfortable if their sofa is in the UK.

A new streaming deal exclusive for UK households makes watching games significantly cheaper there than in France.

The new ‘Ligue 1 Pass’ will see all nine matches played in each game week in Ligue 1, the top French League, available to watch in the UK. The pass will also be available in Ireland.

It can be purchased online and the games then streamed to devices including smart TVs and laptops. The pass will cost £9.99 per month (around €11.80).

However, an equivalent pass in France which streams content through the DAZN sports platform, costs €29.99 per month, tied to a one-year subscription (a cancel anytime option exists for €39.99).

In addition, it shows only eight of the nine matches each week, with the other being shown by BeIN Sports.

You can learn more about the ‘Ligue 1 Pass’ here, however note that some information including how to sign up, is location restricted, and those looking at the site in France (or elsewhere outside of the UK/Ireland) will not be able to access all parts of it.
