Weather in France July 22 – July 26: Forecast by area this week
No storms, temperature variation between south and north. Predictions for sun, storm, rain and more around France for next five days
Skies will be mostly clear this week, bringing sun to all four corners of the country

A return to ‘classic’ French summer weather is expected this week, with no storms forecast, and a difference in temperatures between the north and south of the country.
The south will be affected by anticyclone winds pushing north from Spain while cooler gales from the British Isles will dictate the weather in the north.
Unlike previous weeks, however, the winds are not set to clash and storms are not forecast. Scattered showers are predicted but there should be no significant rainfall.
Monday July 22
The week begins with some rainfall in the east of France and along the English Channel, particularly coastal Normandy.
Cloudy skies are expected in much of north and central France, but in the south, sunny skies will combine with warm temperatures to bring typical July weather.
Note, however, that the Mistral wind will be in full force, bringing gales of up to 80 km/h, and is expected to last until at least Thursday (July 25).
Temperature highs of 35C are expected in inland areas of Provence, and between 20C and 30C elsewhere around the country.
Tuesday July 23
Tuesday will see wind patterns encroach further inland in both north and south.
The British winds will bring scattered showers to the north and central areas of France, as far south as Bourges and Nantes.
The south will remain sunny and warm, particularly in the Rhône valley (31C) and the Mediterranean coastline, where highs of 35C are expected (temperatures inland may reach slightly higher).
Wednesday July 24
Much the same is expected on Wednesday, except most of the showers will have been pushed eastwards into Germany or Switzerland.
Cloudy skies are predicted at the start of the day in the north, as well as the Pyrénées, but by mid-afternoon this should clear. No rain is forecast.
Thursday July 25
This is set to be the clearest day of the week, as warm Atlantic winds from the Azores cover most of the country.
With the exception of some cloudy weather in Normandy and Brittany at the start of the day, skies will be clear and sunny throughout, with no rain forecast.

Temperatures will hover around late July averages – 30C or higher south of Bordeaux and Lyon, and between 20C and 30C north of the two cities.
Friday July 26
This will be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures rising slightly in the south, but remaining still within averages.
Rainfall may hit the north and west of France, from Normandy to Nantes, however this is not guaranteed. Skies will be cloudy in these areas, however.
Seasonal weather is expected in Paris, where the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympic Games will take place. This means temperatures of up to 29C. No rain is forecast for the city.
