Workers have nearly 17 days off ‘sick’

French workers took nearly 17 days off last year with over-55s having nearly three times as many ‘sickies’ as the under-30s.

One in four absences was for personal reasons. Other reasons given were heavy workload, lack of recognition and unhappiness at pay.
