Care homes can cost €3,154 in Paris
Half of all people living in Ehpad care homes pay €1,949 per month with 10% paying less than €1,653 and 10% paying more than €2,798.
Prices are higher in urban areas, and especially Paris and Hauts-de-Seine where residents pay €3,154, while in rural areas such as Meuse it costs €1,616, in Vosges €1,642 and Vendée €1,658.
A CNSA financing agency study showed strong regional cost differences for Ehpads, which are a last-stage to provide care as people become fully dependent and too much for families.
Commercial Ehpads, most often in towns where building land is expensive, were dearer while public and non-profit homes, most often found in rural areas, were cheaper.
