Artist has spent seven years renovating Chapelle Saint-Jean in the Eure-et-Loir - you won’t get wifi, but there will be some very special stained glass
A chapel in the Eure-et-Loir dating from 1269 has been transformed into a unique holiday rental listed on airbnb.
The owner of Chapelle Saint-Jean in Pontgouin is an artist, Iris Fossier, who purchased the property eight years ago.
Members of her family - including her artist mother and master craftsman uncle - have helped her over the past seven years with the renovation work.
Damaged windows have been replaced, tiles have been laid and a wooden mezzanine level added.
However, Ms Fossier still has plans to create her own stained-glass window for the facade and has already enrolled in a course locally that will teach her how to do it.
The property may not benefit from wifi, but Ms Fossier hopes there will be plenty to distract guests from their devices among all the artwork, exposed beams and original features.

The chapel will be available to rent from around Easter to November. The rest of the year, Ms Fossier plans to use the space herself to work on her art.
The chapel is listed on the airbnb website for €140 per night, plus service charges and tourist tax.
