France lockdown: Can I collect an item bought on Leboncoin?

Leboncoin is a website that allows you to buy and sell items online

Published Modified

Reader question: I recently bought something on leboncoin. Am I allowed to go and pick my order up? And if yes, what documents do I need to have on me in the case of a police check-up? Is there a limit to how far I can travel for this?

Yes, it is permitted to collect items that you have ordered online from websites such as Leboncoin.

A phone operator for the coronavirus helpline said that it is recommended you bring a justificatif d’achat (proof of purchase) with you.

You will also be required to fill out an exemption certificate (attestation de déplacement).

You should tick the second box: Déplacements pour se rendre dans un établissement culturel autorisé ou un lieu de culte; déplacements pour effectuer des achats de biens, pour des services dont la fourniture est autorisée, pour les retraits de commandes et les livraisons à domicile.

The coronavirus helpline operator confirmed that there is no specific distance limit for picking up an order, but advised that you should be reasonable.

For example, it is not advised that you travel 120 kilometres to pick up an item.

Inter-regional travel is also still prohibited until at least December 15.
