French App in focus - Youpijob
App that offers many hands to make light work
The Youpijob app is dedicated to making it easier to get small jobs done around the home.
It shows you independent service providers in your area who can help with a range of different tasks.
These include, for example, gardening, baby-sitting, dog-walking, cleaning, moving and more.
You post details of the job you need doing and then service providers put forward their details.
Rates are agreed in advance of any work and all providers are checked, monitored and evaluated for services they provide.
The work also comes with insurance for accidents. The aim is to improve people’s daily lives by making these sorts of local home services easier to find and to offer them at accessible prices.
Connexion tested the app and found it had some 33 job offers in the Nice area, ranging from helping someone’s daughter with homework to interior decorating, constructing flat pack furniture, or helping someone move home.
It is operational in most cities and large towns.
