People with wood pellet stoves are invited to join a group-buy scheme organised by a French consumer group, which should be able to provide pellet stocks at a highly competitive price.
The Choisir son pellet scheme from consumer group UFC Que-Choisir’s commercial subsidiary SAS Que Choisir is open in every region of France until May 2. The idea is to negotiate competitive prices through volume.
The minimum order volume eligible is 65 bags (15kgs each) per pallet or two tonnes of loose pellets, up to a maximum order of five pallets or five tonnes.
From May 4, the scheme promises to provide people with a personalised offer for high quality pellets, which can be delivered to their home.
Applicants are under no obligation to accept the offer that results from the bid in their region, but if they do, they must pay a flat €5 fee to SAS Que Choisir.
The pellets should then be delivered within 30 days. Final payment is made on delivery.

The group has run previous group-buy schemes for electricity contracts.
