High pressure conditions will remain in place over France for the last weekend of 2024 bringing settled but cold weather to all the country with morning frosts in many areas.

The weather system that reached France from the Azores in the days before Christmas brought a dry spell with little wind to most areas, in sharp contrast to the gales of December 21 to 22.

The high pressure is forecast to stay for several more days, prolonging the spell of settled weather along with sunshine in the southern half of France.

However, the skies will remain overcast and grey in much of the north and north-west.

Excellent conditions and clear weather is forecast in the ski resorts, particularly in the northern Alps.
